We had an incredible time at #ConnectedClaims, engaging in forward-thinking discussions with industry leaders and peers. Deepak Badoni, and Jon Sonnenschein met with clients, partners, and experts to discuss recent catastrophes like hurricanes Helene and Milton, the urgent need for real-time insights, and how EigenPrism can support end-to-end claims management during such events. We look forward to building on these valuable conversations. To learn more, visit: www.eigenrisk.com

Forget the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins??—some of the scariest stories come straight from history. In the spirit of Halloween??, we ran historical what-if scenarios on one of our test portfolios to see how fast we could identify the scariest of them (based on Gross Loss) among different perils and regions. Here’s what we uncovered when we ‘unmasked’ past disasters: ?? Windstorm: Hurricane Sandy (2012) came out on top, analyzed from 550+ historical events. Coincidentally, Sandy made landfall in the US a few days before Halloween of 2012. ?? Earthquake: The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake (M7.9) topped the list of seismic risks. #2 on this list is the infamous 1994 Northridge earthquake. ??? Tornado: An EF3 tornado that occurred on Feb 23, 2016, came out to be the worst. Among the properties destroyed in its path was an entire GE warehouse, highlighting the size and severity of this particular event. #4 on this list is a tornado that occurred on Sep 1, 2021. This tornado was generated by Hurricane Ida and was the first EF3 in New Jersey since 1990. Usually, this sort of analysis takes a lot of work—but not with EigenRover. It does all of the heavy lifting, automatically identifying the worst-case scenarios for your book of business based on your chosen criteria, because we know everyone's 'worst case' will be a bit different. It took EigenRover less than 20 minutes to complete all of the analyses above.?? ??Check out the GIFs below to see these scenarios in action. Which historical event still gives you chills? Let us know in the comments.
