What do nurse leaders recommend to include LGBTQ+ patients and employees in health systems? We interviewed 21 nurse leaders (e.g., chief nurse executives and chief nursing officers) from a variety of healthcare settings across the U.S. to gain insight into their perspectives on LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Discover how these leaders suggest advancing equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ communities within healthcare systems and the powerful role nurse leadership can play in shaping these efforts. LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face discrimination in healthcare settings. While Magnet hospitals are known for positive patient outcomes, our study explored whether Magnet designation also aligns with greater LGBTQ+ inclusivity.
