Recently, the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations selected me as one of four "Good guys" at the Litigation Counsel of America Fall conference in Jackson Hole. I had the opportunity to speak on a panel about diversity and inclusion in our profession, and specifically focused on concrete steps to improve the equity of women lawyers. The NCWBA fosters a supportive network of women’s associations nationwide and provides resources to its members for the advancement of women in our profession. 关于我们
Ehrenstein|Sager is a trial boutique providing bespoke legal services to select clients. We Try Cases: We are not merely litigators. Many lawyers say they go to trial. Most do not. They engage in discovery and motion practice with the aim of settlement. It is true that the vast majority of civil matters settle before trial. However, if your case is one which does not settle, you will have needed trial counsel from the outset with the experience and ability to effectively persuade the triers of fact. Unlike many lawyers, we actually try cases before judges, juries and arbitration panels. With three decades of trial practice, Ehrenstein|Sager has the knowledge and skill to effectively try your case. Indeed, our trial prowess facilitates realistic negotiations before trial from a position of strength—often yielding favorable settlements.

At the recent Litigation Counsel of America conference in Jackson Hole, Kenneth DeMoura and I announced the renewal of the Trial Law Institute (TLI), an LCA program that we will be teaching (stay tuned for dates). The TLI’s primary purpose is to perpetuate, elevate and preserve the art of trial presentation and techniques, and to advance and educate on new technologies designed to enhance the admission of evidence in courtroom settings.

Earlier this year, the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) went into effect requiring certain businesses to report their Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) to FinCEN. Recent pushback has resulted in six different federal court cases, with Judge Liles Burke in the Northern District of Alabama ruling the CTA was unconstitutional. That case is now on appeal to the 11th Circuit. Despite this recent decision and other pending litigation, business owners must still file their BOI report before the January 1, 2025 reporting deadline. If you have questions about CTA reporting requirements and need assistance, the team at Ehrenstein|Sager are here to help.

Enjoyed a moment of connection with friends and colleagues at the Litigation Counsel of America's Presidents Dinner at the recent conference in Jackson Hole. Those grins belong to the four most recent past presidents of the LCA: Kenneth DeMoura (DeMoura|Smith LLP), Deborah Perry (Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C.), myself, and Adam Arceneaux (Ice Miller LLP). What a joy to know and work with such excellent attorneys.

On Tuesday, the Office for Career Development, in collaboration with the Intellectual Property and Cyber Law Society and the Business Law Society, co-hosted an engaging Lunch and Learn featuring Brett Sager, Partner at Ehrenstein | Sager.
