I had the privilege of participating in a significant meeting hosted by the Egyptian National Youth and Climate Committee EGYouth4Climate under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Egypt, in collaboration with the Arab Youth Center and the Youth Champion Team of the COP28 UAE Presidency. This gathering, held during the 29th Conference of the Parties COP29 Azerbaijan, brought together Arab youth and organizations and initiatives dedicated to addressing climate and environmental challenges. The meeting aimed to amplify the voices of Arab youth, identify key climate and environmental challenges facing the region, and devise strategies to enhance their role in shaping climate policies. During the discussions, I emphasized the pivotal role of Arab youth as a cornerstone of climate action efforts. I also highlighted the importance of fostering regional cooperation between youth organizations and relevant stakeholders while ensuring the necessary support to empower young people in tackling shared climate challenges. The meeting featured dynamic discussions where participants shared insights on youth participation in climate policies, regional collaboration opportunities, and practical solutions to overcome barriers. Collaboration and youth empowerment are key to achieving meaningful climate solutions. Let’s continue to build impactful partnerships and ensure that young voices are heard and valued in shaping our planet’s future!
