?? Meet our amazing Board Chair, Phyllis Baltz, MHA, MBA! ?? Phyllis has been an invaluable part of the EGUSD FIRST Foundation since its inception in 2021. Her dedication to our mission is truly inspiring. Here's what she has to say about her role: "I am honored to serve on the EGUSD FIRST Foundation and to be a part of supporting the school district in fulfilling its educational mission. Educational development is a vital component of a strong community, and I was thrilled when approached to be part of this inaugural Board of Directors in 2021. Like my work in supporting healthcare in the community, it is very rewarding to be part of something that makes a positive impact on the lives of so many others." One of Phyllis's most memorable moments was receiving the teacher mini-grant applications during our very first funding cycle. The sheer number of applications and the innovative ideas to enrich the learning experience highlighted the critical need we are helping to fulfill for the Elk Grove Unified School District. Meet Pilar Geisse-Godt, one of our incredible EGUSD FIRST Foundation Teacher Mini-grant awardees from Elliott Ranch Elementary School! She says, "So far, the LEGO Lab has been offered to all grades (TK through 6th) and over 100 students have already participated! There have been waiting lists for each session that I have offered to the students. This is the most popular after school activity BY FAR, and the parents and students are already asking about next year!"
