Meet Kelly. Kelly’s first seizure occurred while she was pregnant with her son, John. Fortunately, Kelly’s dog, Kaya, alerted a family member to her seizure, which allowed a safe recovery. Her neurologist suggested EFMN as a resource. Through Kelly’s involvement with EFMN, she can regularly attend webinars and virtual support groups.? EFMN helped Kelly gain the confidence to be a strong advocate for herself and find lifelong friendships; Friends who are there for her through the highest joys and toughest hurdles of living life with epilepsy. Our Camp Programs provide safe, educational, and fun camping experiences for children and teens with epilepsy. With on-site medical staff and counselors trained in seizure first aid, campers and their parents can rest assured they will be safe and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. To make sure a camp experience is accessible for youth of all abilities, we offer Camp Oz, Day Camp, and Family Camp that are all designed specifically to accommodate youth with different needs. Every year our camp programs help build connection, community, and lasting memories for over 100 campers. One of Shreya's favorite adventures? EFMN’s Camp Oz - a summer camp designed specifically for young people with epilepsy. Shreya embraced the full experience, formed lasting friendships, gained a newfound sense of independence, and discovered a wellspring of confidence within herself.
