Educators from EFFINGHAM COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT participated in Gulfstream Aerospace's Discover the Difference: Experience for Educators event earlier today. The day featured an overview of Gulfstream’s operations in Savannah, a tour of Building Z, and a special showcase on Taxiway H, where attendees had an up-close look at the G700, G650, G600, G400, and G280 aircraft. The event also highlighted Gulfstream's commitment to workforce development, showcasing over 1,000 open positions in the local area. Many of these opportunities are accessible to high school graduates, providing valuable career pathways in aviation and advanced manufacturing. Educators left with new insights to help guide students toward these in-demand careers, many of which are right here in our region. Industry representatives, educators and economic development partners from an 8-county region gathered earlier this week to learn more about work-based learning and the ways that they can integrate employees under 18 into their businesses. Guest panelists from HunterMaclean, Development Authority of LaGrange, Malone Workforce Solutions, Gulfstream Aerospace, and more were on hand to answer some of the most common questions. The day is getting closer for Sewon America Inc. to start its first production run! The company is hosting open interviews for entry level team member positions on August 14 and 28 from 9am-1pm at the WorkSource Georgia Job Center in Rincon.

Today we’re reflecting on last week’s CTAE (Career Technical and Agricultural Education) district meeting where educators learned more about RISE (Regional Industry Support Enterprise) and their regional workforce efforts.? Representatives from Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), Hyundai Mobis, Mobis MNAe, and Sewon America also shared the types of positions that will be available to students in our region and the skill sets required to fill those positions. ?
