Are PFAS Emissions from Abatement Something You Want to Understand, Edwards Could Help! Invited by SEMI Taiwan, Edwards was pleased to join its Sustainable Manufacturing Committee meeting on November 20th to share our study on PFAS emission, a growing significant topic in semiconductor manufacturing. With Edwards' environmental expert Dr. Chris Jones as the speaker, we shared the results of laboratory tests on PFAS in wastewater conducted during CF? and C3F8 abatement evaluations, which has been dominated by PFAS in our source water. A dynamic Q&A session followed Dr. Jones's presentation, where committee members raised questions on which processes were the ones with high PFAS emission potential and how to measure large tool fleets emissions properly. We appreciate SEMI Taiwan and the Committee Chair, VP of Nanya Technology, Mr Joseph Wu, for this speaking opportunity to discuss with committee members from foundries, memory houses, equipment and materials companies on how this study could be extended to the ecosystem to address PFAS emission challenges.
