Google is constantly accused of lying about this. They said on Twitter you can hide text in accordions, tabs, and other expandable elements and the hidden text will be treated the same as text that is not hidden. But tests done showed that pages not using accordions performed 12% better in Google. Basically, if you use accordions for SEO, you do 12% worse, despite what Google said. The best SEO is the SEO that everyone overlooks. I reveal it all at compactkeywords.com #seotips #searchengineoptimization #onpageseo #webdevelopment

Reddit is now the third most clicked within organic search. Google had their partnership with Reddit. Google says it has nothing to do with why Reddit rank’s well. We’ve seen this before over the years with Google history, where Wikipedia ranked very well, then Yahoo answers before that. People are like, “Oh, I’m going to put all my eggs into Yahoo Answers.” Then Google’s like, “You know what? We’re going to flip the switch.” And they’re not going to rank so well in the future. Be careful putting all your eggs into Reddit. Just because they’re ranking well today, doesn’t mean they’ll rank well tomorrow. From Ep 621 of The Edward Show - “Google’s March Update Broken Down by Founder of Search Engine Roundtable - Barry Schwartz” - Listen wherever you get your podcasts. Google announced this on LinkedIn specifically, they said, “We continue our work to surface more content from creators through a series of improvements throughout this year.” Some have already happened, additional ones will come later. What’s so interesting about the creator line is how well video is ranking within Google now. It’s not just from YouTube, it’s TikToks, it’s Instagram Reels, then of course it’s YouTube Shorts and main YouTube videos. If you have a keyword you’re targeting, you put that keyword at the beginning of the video description, then maybe you take the video transcript, you just use that as the rest of the description. On TikTok, you only have the description field. On Instagram Reels, you only have the description field. YouTube Shorts and YouTube, you have the title field and the description field. So you put the keyword in the title field and the description field. If you do that, you have a pretty good chance of ranking, literally within a few hours for a piece of content that you might’ve made in five minutes above all the articles that took weeks to make. #seotips #searchengineoptimization #googlecoreupdate #growthhacks

I’m gonna get excommunicated from the tech community for sharing this. There are these two founders in Miami who wanted to get into Y Combinator. Y Combinator is the most sought-after technology accelerator in the world. It’s responsible for Airbnb, Reddit, Dropbox, and many other tech unicorns. If you get in, you’re pretty much guaranteed substantial funding. These two Miami founders Googled, “What are investors most interested in at the moment?” That’s it—that’s what they did. They just Googled it. Then they put together a slide deck based on that, figured out how to spin their credentials toward that trend, and crafted the exact vision they knew investors wanted to hear. They applied to Y Combinator. They got through all the interviews—without even having a product. And they got in. During Y Combinator, they pivoted entirely to something they were actually passionate about. But by then, they had already secured the initial funding, mentorship, and connections from Y Combinator. With that backing, they were able to raise funding for their new idea. And here’s the kicker: They didn’t even rug-pull. They actually built a good product. What’s crazy is that this kind of deception happens all the time. If it doesn’t work out, you’re seen as a low-integrity person. But when it does, you’re praised. I just thought this was a wild tech story, a crazy hustle story, and I had to share. #startups #ycombinator #venturecapital #buildinpublic

Lots of people are putting forums on their website to game SEO. Google favors forums. Reddit, for example, is now the 3rd most clicked website in Google’s organic search results. It's not just Reddit, though. Google is more likely to source its answers from all forums. There are so many people gaming Google with garbage blog content, searchers are now more likely to trust forums. So as a result, Google is prioritizing user generated content. SEOs are catching on and doing this to game Google. #searchengineoptimization #seotips #seohacks #digitalmarketing

This guy has been using this SEO tactic for 15 years and nobody knows about it. Take pages without organic traffic. Just republish them as new pages. Don't change anything, just simply republish them as new pages. The pages get reassessed with your increased topical authority. The reason this works is because the pages could be stuck in a click through rate test phase that could be over. A new URL has a better chance of coming in higher. It's the only way. Pages without organic traffic don't get crawled. They can go a year without re indexing and a site can develop a whole ton of topical authority in that time. Put your existing no traffic content on a new URL, submit it to Google Search Console. This person says they've stuck with this tactic for 15 years. #seohacks #seotips #searchengineoptimization #digitalmarketing

Google just announced it’s prioritizing creators. "We also continue our work to surface more content from creators." This is Google announcing its March core update to Google Search. Video from TikTok, from Instagram Reels, from YouTube Shorts, all ranking very well on Google right now. Google is even pushing creators to upload their TikToks and Instagram Reels onto YouTube. This says, "Upload your existing short form content onto YouTube." Just a month ago, a Google representative said, "Originality is something we're going to be focusing on in 2025." Make 415 word pages targeting your keyword precisely, put your keyword in the Page Title, Meta Description, URL slug, H1, and beginning of the first sentence to rank number one. And use video. Put your keyword at the beginning of each video title and video description. #technews #marketinghacks #instagrammarketing #tiktokmarketing
