EdVestors is excited to be collaborating again with the Community Music Center of Boston to provide direct service to interns during this year's Bloomberg Arts Internship program! CMCB is a longtime partner of EdVestors as a BPS Arts Expansion grantee providing quality music instruction in long-term residencies in Boston Public Schools and serving a worksite for the BAI Program. Shoutout to BAI'24 interns Hannah, Micahel, and Nubiah who worked with CMCB last year! Rising senior high school students in Boston can apply to BAI Boston for a 7-week paid internship program. We are proud to have Anjali Deshpande Ph.D. as part of our team in leading our work around improving math education and supporting math educators in Boston!
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Anjali Deshpande Ph.D. for her incredible support and guidance as I prepared for my first-ever conference presentation at ATMIM. Not only did she help me craft a compelling and impactful presentation, but she also provided the emotional and intellectual encouragement that empowered me to deliver a powerful one-hour session on acceleration as a form of remediation in mathematics. A special thank you to all the participants for their engagement and insightful feedback. Your contributions made the session even more enriching, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from all of you. I am thrilled to share that the session went extremely well, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Anjali's mentorship, combined with the support and input from everyone involved, made this experience truly memorable. Thank you all! #Gratitude #Mentorship #MathematicsEducation #ProfessionalGrowth #CollaborativeLearning #FirstConference

Dozens of PIC staff attended this year’s Seamless Advising Summit, held on Tuesday at UMass Boston. EdVestors convened the event on behalf of New Skills Boston—a cross-sector partnership making quality career pathways accessible to more Boston students. The Summit was a day-long professional learning experience working towards the collective goal of creating a seamless college and career advising process for students. ? PIC staff shared their expertise by facilitating two workshop sessions. Joseph McLaughlin, Director of Research, Strategy, and Operations, joined by Employer Engagement Manager Laila Jalilian and Career Services Manager Anthony Contreras, presented on labor market insights in Greater Boston and advising students on healthcare internships. Annabelle Cataloni, Assistant Director for Postsecondary Education, guided a discussion group on the best ways to support students through key transitions in their educational journeys. Over 30 PIC staff attended the event and engaged in college and career-themed workshops. At the end of the event, the partnership between the PIC and BPS was recognized for increasing the number of students who participate in MyCAP and career-connected learning. Jimmy Wyman, PIC Director of Career Services, and Erin Jaques, BPS, Assistant Director of College and Career Advising K-12 at Boston Public Schools, accepted the award. Thank you to our fellow New Skills Boston partners for a day filled with connection and learning: event organizer Edvestors, Boston Public Schools, Bunker Hill CC, UMass Boston, Massachusetts Executive Office of Education, The Boston Foundation, and the Boston Office of Workforce Development.

It was a pleasure to gather and connect with a community of more than 300 individuals from Boston Public Schools, postsecondary institutions, community-based organizations, and the City of Boston Office of Workforce Development at the Seamless Advising Summit! With more than 20 workshop sessions and nearly 70 presenters, this was our largest and most expansive convening in terms of topics covered. The Summit was a one-stop shop for insights on policy & data, student supports, middle grades career exploration, postsecondary transitions, pathways, and workforce development. We are grateful to MA Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler, PhD for joining us and amplifying the importance of advising and career pathways. Thank you to The Boston Foundation for supporting our work in New Skills Boston!

My favorite part of EdVestors's Seamless Advising Summit is the PEOPLE: real connections and a genuine commitment to economic mobility. Blessed and honored to be on a panel about Financial Aid Public Policy with some of the kindest changemakers: Herman Perez-Sostre, Jr., Elizabeth Pimentel, and Sam Shroll. & Femi Stoltz, your facilitation, intention, and transparency inspire me. I'm in awe of Boston's network of practitioners.
