关于我们
A national nonprofit based in Washington, DC, Education Reimagined partners with a growing movement of visionary leaders (of all ages) who are forwarding a new future for education in their communities and across the United States. The organization aims to deepen and spread the presence of learner-centered education such that it is available to each and every child in the country, regardless of background or circumstance. When Education Reimagined says "learner-centered education," we mean a system of education that recognizes and values young people as unique and whole human beings with the agency to chart and live out their distinct journey of learning. This system is a transformational shift away from the conventional, school-centered education system that asks young people to adapt to a standardized, one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

This week, members of our team and our Board of Directors enjoyed “leaving to learn” with a visit to The Met High School in Providence. This flagship Big Picture Learning school makes space for its learners to build lasting relationships with peers, adults, and mentors in the community and beyond. The young people choose what to explore, and go deep in that discovery?to understand what lights them up—and importantly—what doesn’t. They develop skills and earn badges to take with them to their next steps. They build critical competencies, which they each share in their?exhibitions?of learning—which we were lucky to witness. The experience energized us in our commitment to make this #LearnerCenteredEducation available?to every young person in the United States. We have deep #gratitude to?Nancy Diaz,?Joseph Battaglia,?Suzanne Lynch,?and the whole team for choreographing?a powerful experience for us. Thank you to our board Marc Porter Magee, Carlos R. Moreno, Kimo Kippen, John Jacob, Carole Basile, Robert Sherman, Ph.D., Larry Leverett, Rob Lauber, Danielle Rowe, and Kalei Delovio, and staff Demi Edwards, Emily Liebtag, Emily Bader, Alin Bennett, and Sofia Teytelman in attendance.
