关于我们
A national nonprofit based in Washington, DC, Education Reimagined partners with a growing movement of visionary leaders (of all ages) who are forwarding a new future for education in their communities and across the United States. The organization aims to deepen and spread the presence of learner-centered education such that it is available to each and every child in the country, regardless of background or circumstance. When Education Reimagined says "learner-centered education," we mean a system of education that recognizes and values young people as unique and whole human beings with the agency to chart and live out their distinct journey of learning. This system is a transformational shift away from the conventional, school-centered education system that asks young people to adapt to a standardized, one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

To kick off #Aurora24, Carlos R. Moreno welcomed a group of incredible young humans to the main stage. From Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School, SMASH (Santa Monica Alternative Schoolhouse) and The San Diego MET High School, they shared the agency they enjoy -- and what that means to them in their learning and their lives. They talked about their passion projects in detail, and the way those projects have inspired them to deepen their understanding about concepts and the communities that surround them. And they shared their requests and advice for our soon-to-be president. They are our now, and our future. At Education Reimagined, we are so grateful to Big Picture Learning, and the visionaries who lead these incredible learning spaces, for sparking this light in young people across the country. Especially today.

Carissa Rickard is a student representative on Colorado Springs School District 11's District Accountability Committee, and has an important message for all of us who are committed to cultivating learner-centered ecosystems: "To all the educators reading this: I encourage you to actively seek out and genuinely listen to what your students have to say. Our unique perspectives offer valuable insights that can amplify the learning experience for everyone. When we are involved in the decisions being made about our education, you are not just improving the system—you are empowering us to take agency for our learning and become more engaged. Through working together, we can create a more inclusive, effective, and supportive academic environment." Learn more about their experience on our blog: https://hubs.ly/Q02WJwkC0
