?????????????? This #WorldChildrensDay, we shine a light on the transformative power of early childhood education (ECE) in shaping brighter futures for children everywhere. The first years of life lay the foundation for lifelong learning, yet millions of children still lack access to quality early learning opportunities. Non-state actors are key contributors to expanding and improving ECE in LMICs. Beyond directly providing ECE services, they play a vital role in ensuring quality by offering teacher training, enhancing pedagogical practices, and supporting robust monitoring and evaluation systems. Our evidence brief, Non-State Engagement in Early Childhood Education: Conditions for Success, presents three case studies where non-state actors have successfully expanded access, improved quality, and driven innovation in early learning. Partnerships between governments and non-state actors are critical to mobilize the resources, expertise, and innovation needed to improve access to quality education for African children and youth. In this blog, a collaboration with Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), we explore different government and non-state partnership models by highlighting three programs implemented or funded by Education Finance Network members: 1?? Transforming Education in Cocoa Communities (TRECC) and Child Learning and Education Facility (CLEF) in Cote d’Ivoire, funded by Jacobs Foundation and UBS Optimus Foundation 3??
