This week, Vice President of #Interoperability Solutions Rosh Dhanawade is presenting the session, "Promoting Collaborative Development for Interoperability," alongside Dale Allen (DXtera Institute), Didem Tüzemen, Ph.D. (Coleridge Initiative), Dean Folkers (Council of Chief State School Officers), Nathan Barrett (Coleridge Initiative), and Tricia Farris (AEM Corporation/Community of Innovation) at the Coleridge Initiative's 5th Annual National Convening. This session will explore innovative approaches to building #data products using #OpenSource tools and technologies. Panelists will discuss their experiences designing and implementing open-source solutions, and?the critical role of collaboration in ensuring these solutions are #sustainable, adaptable, and impactful. This week's #WordofTheWeek is User-Centered Design. User-Centered Design is an iterative process that focuses on users' needs and experiences in each phase of the #design process. Our user-centered design process begins by working with partners to understand their big picture ideas and hone in on the questions they seek to answer. We also engage with stakeholders via interviews and focus groups to develop user stories and understand the decisions they aim to make with the #data. From there, we design mock-ups and prototypes to conduct usability testing to inform the functionality and design of the tool, with ongoing iteration with users until we're satisfied with the design. We then build the dashboard based on that design and conduct additional usability testing with the working #dashboard to ensure it functions as designed.
