We truly want to stop having to make this face! The opposition’s plan to ban sex education nationwide is a dangerous action against students’ rights and freedom. We know that the things learned in sex ed classes, not only help the development of exceptional young people, but are also fundamental to building communities strong enough to resist fascism. That’s why we're asking you to help us raise $10K to directly support local pro-sex-ed organizers and school board candidates in 2025. Between now and the end of the year, can you help us raise these critical funds with a gift – or even better, by raising money from your friends and family? Use the link below to make a donation or sign up to fundraise with us, and really make a difference for students’ rights across the country. https://lnkd.in/e3QK4R-D #EducateUS #sexed #sexedvoter #sexedforall #socialjustice #sexeducation #educationpolicy #activism #donation

Now more than ever, it’s so important that we swerve towards supporting sex ed champions!?? Our election losses have made us more committed to advocating for sex ed, not less. The values and skills young people learn in sex ed classes are fundamental for their personal well-being and, building communities strong enough to resist fascism. #GoodNewsOfTheWeek ?? Activists stop Alaskan book ban In an October victory for freedom-to-read activists, the Alaska Superior Court ruled the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District's book ban unconstitutional! Federal Judge Sharon Gleason deemed the removal of titles such as Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye as a “suppression of ideas.” Huge shoutout to freedom-to-read activists in Alaska and around the country who keep fighting for students' rights to access diverse and inclusive literature and protecting free expression in educational settings. #sexed #sexedvoter #sexedforall #socialjustice #sexeducation #educationpolicy #activism #GNOTW #EducateUS #bookbans

Join us TONIGHT at 7:30PM Eastern/4:30PM Pacific for virtual conversation on misogynoir and what it really takes to elect Black women. Hear from EducateUS Lead Organizer Candace Hardnett (@godly_andgay) and @the_emancipator's Editor-in-Chief Jamil Smith (jamilksmith). You'll learn how misogynoir is more than just racism + sexism, the surprising and not-at-all surprising roles it's playing in this year's election (not just in the race for President), and some simple and effective ways each of us can interrupt and defeat it when we see it. From VP Kamala Harris to your local school board, whether Black women get elected this November will depend, in part, on what we do right now to combat misogynoir - registration is FREE and you can do it at the link below and invite your friends, too! https://tr.ee/Asho4gbA9v We really can win with Black women this November -- but only if we all understand the assignment. #sexed #sexedvoter #sexedforall #misogynoir #socialjustice #sexeducation #educationpolicy #activism
