We love working with our many employer partners! Right now, Educate Maine is partnering with passivhausMAINE on registered apprenticeship program development. We're also excited about a new certified pre-apprenticeship program for high-performance building systems and practices. Today we had a chance to showcase our work at the passivehausMaine forum. Shoutout to two of our current apprentices, Delaney and Helena, who were on a panel about young people building their futures in and around the trades in Maine. phME-passivhausMAINE Maine Passive House Juniper Design + Build Maine Department of Labor

Ensuring high quality, accessible child care and early childhood education for all Mainers is critical for families--but also important to employers and business. And law enforcement leaders say that failure to ensure a good start for all kids is ultimately a public safety problem. At Educate Maine we're advocating fiercely for our state to continue supporting this foundational service. https://loom.ly/W8M9yRU

It takes a village ... to build out a multi-ton bus with a STEM laboratory classroom, staff it with top-notch educators, stock it with state of the art technology, drive it around a rural state for weeks on end, park it in countless school lots, welcome thousands of students and community members, and make it one of Maine's most recognizable moving landmarks. We are grateful to the educators, learners, parents, community leaders, working scientists, and fellow non-profit organizations for their invaluable support of Maine's Mobile Biolab, now one year old! And we appreciate the lab's supporting partners who make it all possible. They include: The Roux Institute at Northeastern University; University of Maine System (UMS); University of New England; Yokogawa Fluid Imaging Technologies (FLOW CAM), Learning Undefeated; BIOME (Bioscience Association of Maine) and Live and Work in Maine. Thank you.. and Happy Birthday, Biolab !

Hard to believe it's been 365 days, 12 months, 26 schools, 100 teachers, more than 5,000 students and 13 industry partners! Happy anniversary to Maine's Mobile Biolab. This laboratory classroom may be one of Maine’s most recognizable rolling landmarks, second only to L.L. Bean's Boot trucks (we love you, L.L. Bean, but you don't have life science lessons onboard). The Biolab had a stellar first year, launching her journey first at the State House in Augusta, with a star-studded legislative audience and then at Fort Kent Elementary in Aroostook County, where students vied to be “first on the bus.” Since then she's traversed 12 of our 16 counties, bringing STEM curricula to middle-school students and communities. Where will Biolab go next? Go here to find out: https://loom.ly/gZY_BO0\ Big thanks to our partners, who make Biolab’s continuing journey possible.
