Since 2016, EDPR NA has been harnessing the power of the wind and the sun in Mexico and deploying homegrown, sustainable energy to communities across the country.?? With 566 megawatts of operational renewable energy, EDPR NA has contributed more than 700 million in capital investment and has created more than 60 permanent jobs for local residents where our projects reside. We are proud to share?that our parent company, EDP, is participating in the 6th edition of the A2E Fund, investing €1 million in nine renewable energy projects across #Africa, including in Mozambique, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and Rwanda. ? These initiatives will directly benefit more than 300,000 people and improve the lives of 5.5 million indirectly, transforming access to education, health care, and clean water in rural communities. From electrifying 150 health facilities to powering 20 schools and enabling solar-powered ambulances, these projects demonstrate the power of renewable energy to foster social, environmental, and economic progress. Our EDPR NA Government Affairs, Marketing, Communications, and Community Relations team gathered in Washington, D.C. this past week for a two-day strategy session for driving a net-zero energy future in 2025 and beyond. ?? ? Hosted at Solar Energy Industries Association's offices, the agenda included insightful policy presentations, collaborative break-out sessions, and fun team excursions such as a boat tour on the Potomac River. ? Our team members have returned with fresh perspectives, actionable plans, and a renewed commitment to advancing clear and impact-driven messaging on renewable energy across North America.? ? From #Georgia to #Indiana, our #EDPRNA team members have hosted Open Houses this past month to share educational and informative insight on solar energy development and it’s benefit to local economies. ? ? In #Georgia, our team engaged with more than 140 community members and provided their insight and knowledge to the questions attendees had on our early-stage development solar park in Jasper County, #GA. ? Additionally, last week, we hosted an?Open House in #Indiana to converse with community members and provide project background information, keeping residents engaged and updated on the progress of our 100-megawatt solar park. We are powering American communities across the continent, and we are proud to continue to deliver homegrown, reliable energy with our agreement with Salt River Project to provide 200 megawatts of renewable energy to the state of Arizona with our Flatland Energy Storage Project. ??? Flatland Energy Storage Project will be a 200 MW/800 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system located near Coolidge, Arizona. The project will utilize lithium-ion technology, designed and manufactured in the U.S. by Tesla. “We’re excited to be partnering with SRP on the largest utility-scale storage project in the EDP Group’s global portfolio to date,” said Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO of EDP Renewables North America. “Storage is key to modernizing the US power grid and is a requisite in accelerating the adoption of renewable energy while boosting grid reliability and resiliency.” ??
