Helping everyone connected to incarceration build better lives.

关于我们

Edovo is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help everyone connected to incarceration build better lives. Our goal is to enable correctional programming beyond the classroom; where historically corrections has been able to serve only 1 in 5 individuals. Our secure, customized, and proven-effective application can be made available on any connected device; making us the only tool that is truly scalable across the nation. We have had the honor of serving over 700,000 incarcerated individuals with over 25,000 hours of free educational, vocational, and rehabilitative curriculums. At Edovo, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, so fundamental learning should always be available at no cost to the incarcerated Learners we serve. We strive to create rehabilitative-focused correctional environments that lower recidivism, increase safety inside and outside correctional walls, and drive positive outcomes for incarcerated people and their families.

2024 is almost a wrap, and we’re closing it out with a bold transformation that’s all about purpose. We’ve got a fresh new look and refreshed website to accelerate our mission as a newly minted nonprofit! Why the change? Because we’re more committed than ever to spark positive change for incarcerated learners. Becoming a nonprofit lets us go all-in on what matters—bringing life-changing education and rehabilitation to everyone in jails and prisons. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward creating tools and resources to help these individuals build brighter futures. Our rebrand isn’t just about a pretty website (though we’re obsessed!). It’s a declaration: Edovo is here to make an impact. We’re here to show how every incarcerated learner’s success creates ripples that extend far beyond prison walls. Read more about our exciting evolution and what it means for the future: https://lnkd.in/gg6HUQrs This isn’t just about us. The carceral space is tough, and no one person or organization can drive change alone. But together, we can. Whether it’s a share, a donation, or just spreading word, join us in making waves far and wide to fundamentally reshape our societies for good. Huge thanks to Doug Burnett and the team at Buena for making our mission and learners shine through this stunning new brand and website. #Edovo #RippleEffect #EducationForAll #NonprofitTransformation

It was such a joy to connect with The Lionheart Foundation and other friends in the space at the Correctional Education Association conference in September! Huge shoutout to our very own Desiree Jordan for representing Edovo as a speaker and sharing insights on how we're making educational, vocational, and rehabilitative content accessible to justice-impacted individuals. This work takes a village, and we’re so grateful to be part of it. #Corrections #EducationInCorrections #JusticeImpacted #Recidivism

It was an incredible honor for Edovo to be part of this year’s National Reentry Workforce Collaborative (NRWC) Conference! Our very own Anna DeLuna Ferguson joined Melissa Riccio with the Center for Employment Opportunities and Kavell Brown with LinkedIn Social Impact to share updates on our pilot program with LinkedIn for Learning, reaching over 1,000 facilities and making professional development more accessible for justice-impacted individuals. With more than 40,000 learners engaged in LinkedIn’s programming, we’re inspired by the growing impact and grateful for the opportunity to support individuals in building skills for re-entry. NRWC Conference gathered over 400 individuals across the nation dedicated to ensuring a successful reentry experience for all. Did you know that about 75% of people with a first conviction do not get a second conviction within ten years? Together, we can work toward a better future and better career placement for all. Thank you to our partners and to everyone committed to driving real, lasting change. Here’s to redefining re-entry and supporting each person’s path forward! #Edovo #Reentry #JusticeReform #ProfessionalSkills #LinkedIn

**An update on how the LinkedIn Social Impact Team is helping individuals both inside and outside of prison at scale:** The National Reentry Workforce Collaborative (NRWC) Conference is the nation’s largest conference dedicated to supporting individuals’ re-entry into society post-incarceration. My wonderful partners, Anna DeLuna Ferguson (Edovo) and Melissa Riccio (Center for Employment Opportunities), spoke at a plenary session on the progress of our pilot program, which involves placing 50+ LinkedIn for Learning courses inside prisons across the U.S. and distributing 4,000 free LinkedIn Premium codes to justice-impacted individuals and nonprofit re-entry professionals. Through Edovo’s learning platform on in-prison tablets, we’ve seen promising results: - Over 40,000 individuals have completed at least one LinkedIn Learning course. - More than 106,000 LinkedIn Learning courses have been accessed on tablets. - Learners have spent over 330,000 hours engaging in LinkedIn Learning courses. Additionally, the free and unlocked course “Job Seeking with a Criminal Record” by Dr. Genevieve Rimer at CEO, which is available to the public and teaches justice-impacted how to navigate the job search upon release. Is currently offered on tablets to learners: In more than 1,000 correctional facilities, and in just five months, over 24,000 learners have completed the course. We are only five months into this pilot, and the impact will continue to grow. During the panel, we discussed how technology can serve as a catalyst for democratizing access to knowledge and education and how essential partnerships with nonprofits are in supporting community progress. Ultimately, we hope that incarcerated individuals, by engaging with quality professional content while inside, can gain new skills and insight into the modern workplace, equipping them to re-enter society as contributing members. Instead of their conviction being the first thing seen, we want their LinkedIn profile—where they can tell their own story and highlight who they’ve become—to take precedence, allowing them to be defined by their growth rather than their past. Side note: this is my first time editing down a whole hour worth of content to just 9min so don't come for me in the comments lol , I'm learning video editing.

Voting Rights in the U.S.: We’re Way Out of Step When it comes to voting rights, the U.S. is playing by a different—and pretty outdated—rulebook. Over 4.4 million Americans are currently banned from voting just because of a past felony conviction. To put that in perspective, most other countries either don’t restrict voting rights for criminal convictions or do so only in narrow circumstances. But there's a silver lining—some states are expanding voting access and even setting up polling stations in correctional facilities. Countries like Chile and Greece are already doing this, so why are we still lagging behind? Voting is a basic right that shouldn't be taken away so easily. In a country built on the idea of representation, it’s time we reconsider who gets a voice. Last week, our squad gathered in Kansas City for a company summit full of team-building, big dreams, lots of small LEGO pieces and digging into how we can tackle our toughest challenges. All of this in service to one shared mission: to help everyone connected to incarceration build better lives. From dreaming about the future to finding tactical solutions, we’re thankful for this crew and the heart they bring to everything we do. #KansasCitySummit #DreamTeam #Grateful #BuildingBetterLives #LEGOArchitects #Edovo
