#ThrowbackThursday to our team’s transformation of the former Yankee Pedlar Inn into a modern branch bank while preserving its historic charm. ? This project involved carefully restoring the historic Hildreth House while introducing a contemporary barn-inspired structure for the bank and drive-thru. The result? A seamless blend of past and present—where the Hildreth House now hosts community activities, and the bank’s vaulted interior nods to the Pedlar’s legacy. The facility operates entirely free of fossil fuels, powered by a solar PV array and a closed-loop geothermal system for heating and cooling—a true testament to sustainable design and engineering. We are honored to be part of the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs’ Temporary Housing Project, which recently celebrated its groundbreaking. Timothy Widman, AIA, Principal at edmSTUDIO, joined fellow project leaders in this milestone moment. ? This project is about more than construction—it’s about creating safe, accessible, and dignified housing for veterans and their families. As the architect for the Levitow Lane roofing repairs portion of this initiative, our team is contributing to a broader effort to enhance these essential facilities for those who have served our country. ? During the ceremony, Connecticut Department of Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno noted, “???? ???????? ?????????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ??????????, ?????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????????? ????????????.” We’re proud to support this meaningful initiative and help improve the lives of veterans across Connecticut.

This week, our new laser cutter has been working overtime, helping us explore building concepts with precision and detail. ?? The edmSTUDIO team has been crafting intricate models of our latest designs, transforming sheets of wood, acrylic, and cardboard into three-dimensional representations. These tangible models allow us to quickly test, refine, and enhance our ideas with accuracy. This hands-on approach offers a new perspective on scale, proportion, and spatial relationships – elements that digital models alone can’t fully capture. More than just a tool, the laser cutter is a key part of enhancing our creative process and elevating the quality of our work.
