The FC45HW - MADE IN TAIWAN! EDM Network in collaboration with I-Smart Taiwan introduces the first pure water-based Fast Wire EDM. This horizontal-cutting, submerged Fast Wire EDM cuts the build plate in an inverted position. This allows for the 3D metal printed parts and test coupons to gently float to the bottom of the work tank into a basket for easy retrieval. As you can see here in this GIF, the (optional) loading cart is positioned in front of the FC45HW where the build plate gets loaded onto carrier plate which is then inverted 180 degrees. The carrier plate/build plate is then loaded into EDM on rollers. Z-axis lowers onto 3 precision draw bars. Z-axis moves to programmed positioned. Wire is aligned to face of build plate, then positioned for cutting. Cut length inputted into CNC controller, along with AC or DC power cutting technology. Work tank fills to build plate.
