The Institute for Electric Innovation recently hosted its 14th Annual Powering the People event, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the future of the electric power industry. #PTP2024 featured insightful sessions, including a panel led by Puget Sound Energy's Mary Kipp on AI and demand flexibility, and a session including Fortis Inc.'s David Hutchens on evolving residential customer expectations. EEI's Patricia K. Vincent-Collawn delivered closing remarks, providing valuable insights into the industry's future.

Last week, our executive team celebrated Entergy's 75th anniversary as a listed NYSE company. It was a great event at the Stock Exchange, which also allowed us to celebrate 111 years being in business. While in New York, I was also able to have productive conversations with Bloomberg News and CNBC's Mad Money with Jim Cramer where I shared our customer-driven growth opportunity, infrastructure projects to strengthen the electrical system and how we are working to keep energy costs as low as possible for our customers. EEI will join Utilities United Against Scams this week to support International Fraud Awareness Week and to recognize the ninth annual Utility Scam Awareness Day on Wednesday, November 20. Utility Scam Awareness Day is an advocacy and awareness campaign focused on educating customers and exposing scammer tactics. For years, scammers have posed as utility workers and attempted to steal financial information or obtain immediate payment from customers by threatening service interruptions. ???Our first day at #COP29 is a wrap. Edison International is engaged in this annual U.N. conference to collaborate with global leaders and find common ground to address climate change.? ? California often serves as a test case for what’s needed nationally and globally. At a panel hosted by the Edison Electric Institute, EPRI and Nuclear Energy Institute, we discussed Edison’s recent Reaching Net Zero analysis of how our state — even with roadblocks — can meet the growing demands of economywide electrification.?? ? During a session sponsored by Business Roundtable, we focused on global collaboration on emissions reduction and climate change mitigation efforts, as well as the potential impact of the recent U.S. election on climate policy.?? ? We know there are challenges, including regulatory and supply chain bottlenecks and the need for capital to invest in clean energy projects.
