D.C. Policy Center's State of DC Schools report released today highlights the strong system health (growing enrollment, educator and leader retention) and modest progress on outcomes and attendance we're seeing in DC while noting the work that still lies ahead. Ed Forward DC is proud to again support the release of this annual overview of public education in DC to help families, educators, students, and policymakers make informed decisions to continue improving educational opportunities for our students. https://bit.ly/4iHM2Ph

A new study from Harvard’s Center for Education Policy Research highlights Washington, DC, as a bright spot on NAEP— showcasing the impact of strategic investments in high-impact tutoring, structured literacy training, and evidence-based curricula. From expanding the DC Reading Clinic to investing $40 million in high-impact tutoring, DCPS and OSSE have led the charge in accelerating literacy gains for students.
