EDAC Labs recently hosted a group of Maryland Legislators for a conversation and tour of our R&D facility, which now includes a 250 kg/day hydrometallurgy plant. Legislators learned about the science of salt splitting electrochemistry, they heard about using hydrometallurgy to extract all the value from rock, and they heard about the potential jobs and carbon benefits that can be created in Maryland through the utilization of existing serpentine rocks already being excavated in local quarries. DOE Visits EDAC Labs. Douglas Wicks, Program Manager of the DOE's?ARPA-E MINER Program, visited EDAC Labs on Monday, September 16. EDAC CEO James F. Lavin, Co-founder Professor Chao Wang, and Director of Engineering Hao Shen toured Doug around the EDAC R&D center, where EDAC has constructed a full hydrometallurgy plant capable of processing up to 250kg of rock per day. EDAC plans to operate and optimize this facility internally over the next year as we work to construct and deploy a larger 10 ton per day rock processing facility at a local quarry. https://lnkd.in/dcWCTS8K #cdr #doe #nickel
