Company culture is important in every industry, but in construction where there are increased rates of injury, addiction, and turnover, it should be even more important. Unfortunately, this is seldom the case. At EDA Contractors, we don’t just emphasize the importance of culture in the workplace, we live it in everything we do. This starts with our promise of being successful together and extends to each of our values. #workplaceculture #culture #contractors

"Workers like Tina are literally building the future of New Jersey." - New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy Congratulations Tina on your well-deserved recognition of your dedication and expertise! We’re looking forward to #WomenInConstructionWeek next week, where we’ll be highlighting the talented women of EDA, like Tina, and sharing their stories of skill, dedication, and impact!
Yesterday, Carpenters Local 254 member Tina Pastoressa was recognized during Governor Murphy’s Budget Address as a shining example of the enduring impact of union apprenticeships and workforce development programs in New Jersey. Governor Murphy said it best: "Workers like Tina are literally building the future of New Jersey." Tina’s journey began in 2022 when she enrolled in the Carpenters’ Apprentice Ready Program (CARP), which helps aspiring carpenters—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—launch careers in the trades. Today, she is a proud union carpenter, working every day to build a stronger New Jersey. Her story is a testament to the power of apprenticeship programs and the opportunities for life-long careers that union training provides. Tina even contributed to the renovation of the rotunda in the New Jersey State Capitol. Congratulations to our union sister Tina, on this well-earned recognition! Your hard work and dedication make us proud. #UnionStrong #SistersInTheBrotherhood #Local254 #SkilledTrades #WomenInTrades #UnionApprenticeship #CARP

How you train your managers shapes the culture of your workplace. Are you fostering trust, collaboration, and empathy, or simply focusing on results and authority? Managers who lead with humanity create spaces where teams feel heard, valued, and supported. They focus on open communication, work-life balance, and employee growth, helping individuals and organizations thrive. On the other hand, traditional management training may lean more into hierarchy, rigid authority, and performance-driven leadership, which doesn't always lead to the best possible outcomes for your business. How does your company train managers to lead with humanity? Share your thoughts with us below and check out the full blog here: https://hubs.la/Q0382cW90 #SuccessfulTogether #WorkplaceCulture #Humanity #ProfessionalDevelopment

At EDA, we believe great results come from a workplace where people feel valued, trusted, and even have a little fun. On The Construction Leadership Podcast with Bradley Hartmann, Ed DeAngelis shared how culture isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a business strategy. One of Ed’s biggest inspirations was Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, which proved that when people enjoy where they work, they perform better, stay longer, and push for excellence. A VP who calls himself “Mediocre Vice President”? That’s humility, and it works. Because at the end of the day, real success comes from real people who love what they do. This week's #Duckumentary is all about #EngineeringWeek, and we’re featuring EDA’s Principal Engineer, Paul Goldberg! With 15 years at EDA, Paul has been instrumental in developing strategies for complex projects, enhancing risk management with BIM & 3D modeling, and shaping EDA’s future through structured engineering processes. Paul’s journey from project management to leading engineering initiatives, highlights the dynamic nature of problem-solving in construction as an engineer. His biggest piece of advice? “Don’t underestimate the power of soft skills, being able to communicate solutions effectively is just as important as finding them.” Read more about Paul: https://hubs.la/Q037knLt0 #EngineeringWeek #SuccessfulTogether #Duckumentary
