Delivering the Value of Nature Restored.

关于我们

Founded in 2006, Ecosystem Investment Partners (EIP) is a real assets, private equity firm with over $1B in AUM and a national footprint that develops institutional capital solutions for the ecological restoration markets. EIP delivers high-quality restoration and conservation projects across the United States by acquiring, restoring, and permanently protecting priority conservation properties, and selling the mitigation credits to customers who must offset their unavoidable environmental impacts. EIP is one of the country's leading providers of environmental restoration with 80 active mitigation banks and large-scale restoration projects across 15 states. To date, EIP has restored over 44,000 acres of wetlands and over 230 miles of streams*. Mitigation credits from EIP enable public and private customers to satisfy the requirements of environmental permits quickly and cost-effectively while eliminating liability exposure. EIP's mitigation banks are approved by the US Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies to fulfill mitigation requirements of Section 404 Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act permits, when impacts to wetlands, streams, and endangered species are unavoidable. *Data as of 9/30/24. Is this the year that biodiversity becomes important in the investment world? How is the current change in the US administration going to change the focus on biodiversity? We just discussed these questions at “The next frontier: to what extent can addressing biodiversity drive returns?” This was the panel I just moderated at the PEI Responsible Investment Forum in New York. The answers to these and other questions were varied. If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to me or my wonderful panelists: Will Relle, Nick Dilks, Suzanne Tavill, and Yovanka Bylander Arroyo!

Peatlands play a crucial role in carbon storage and climate regulation. The Nature Conservancy in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota released a new report titled Playbook for Minnesota Peatlands, highlighting the urgent need to protect and restore these ecosystems to mitigate climate change. Some of the key takeaways include: ?? Collaborative efforts among stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and conservation organizations, are a necessity. ?? We need to implement science-based strategies to protect and restore peatlands— the report highlights successful case studies and best practices. ?? We need to prioritize peatland conservation as a vital component of climate change mitigation and biodiversity preservation. ?? The Charles Edward Etok Edwardsen, Jr. Mitigation Bank (CEEMB) opened this past summer. North Slope developers within the CEEMB Service Area can now buy compensatory mitigation credits to offset their projects. The bank will help with new and continued development of Arctic resources and will monetize already protected lands within the Barrow Environmental Observatory system. This ground-breaking project is consistent with our I?upiat values of respect for nature, hunting traditions, cooperation, and avoidance of conflict.
