In a groundbreaking study led by?Hazen and Sawyer,?we discovered that while #PFAS were detected in municipal sludge entering the Ecoremedy, LLC gasification system, they were absent in the dried solids produced. This finding is part of a series of promising results that could pave the way for effective solutions in the challenging arena of #PFAS management. This study conducted by researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Illinois Sustainable Technology Center and supported by its Hazardous Waste Research fund exposes the endless loop of Microplastics and Forever Chemicals in landfill leachate and wastewater treatment plant inflow/outflow. The results point to why our Fluid Lift Gasification process for WWTPs makes so much sense - reducing biosolid mass and volume by 95% with non-detectable PFAS levels. #Biosolids #PFAS #wastewatertreatment
