It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our CEO and Co-founder, Troy Wiseman. Troy was not only a visionary entrepreneur and leader but also a beloved husband, father, son, colleague, and friend. His passion for life, his heart of gold and his humbleness were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As co-creator of EcoPlanet Bamboo, Troy was driven by a desire to leave a lasting impact on both the environment and the communities we serve. He saw the immense potential of bamboo as a sustainable resource and worked tirelessly to drive market change while uplifting our workers and the communities in the areas where we operate. Just before his sudden illness, Troy spent a week with our team in the Philippines, doing what he loved most - engaging with staff, building relationships and experiencing first hand the difference we are making. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy of compassion, innovation and never faltering purpose will continue to guide us as we move forward. We are forever grateful for the vision he crafted, the leadership he provided and the incredible teams he helped build. EcoPlanet Bamboo will continue to thrive, carrying forward Troy's life's work, passion and dream for positive change.
关于我们
EcoPlanet Bamboo is driving the reforestation agenda with a global portfolio of bamboo projects. With bamboo farms currently located across Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia, and smallholder operations under development in East Africa, EcoPlanet Bamboo is leading the industrialization of bamboo as a tree free, deforestation free alternative fiber for timber manufacturing industries. The conversion of degraded land into certified bamboo plantations is coupled with innovative technology development to provide bamboo based solutions for products and markets that currently contribute to the deforestation of our world’s natural forests. Bamboo can be grown on degraded land, providing positive restoration properties while at the same time reducing deforestation and degradation through the provision of a sustainable source of fiber. Bamboo’s fast growth rate and high productivity results in significant volumes of fiber produced per area and input. New technology enables bamboo’s use in the manufacturing of most products that currently rely on wood as their raw fiber including pulp & paper, textiles, engineered timber and bioenergy. EcoPlanet's bamboo can provide a secure and sustainable raw resource for industries, companies and consumers.

Another incredible #WorldBambooDay celebration in the Philippines. From traditional bamboo dancing, to educational activities, to bamboo planting. Our team, with activities organized and led by Merasol Oyangoren and John Ray Rivera, government and cultural leadership and the community celebrated the impact that our Lanao del Sur Bamboo Reforestation Project has created since its initiation just over two years ago. More than 200 full time jobs created with a high participation of women in an area where opportunities for women are scarce, to the transformative effect of the planted native Dendrocalamus asper on reduction in landslides, flooding, fire and other deforestation driven environmental issues of this beautiful montane landscape. Happy World Bamboo Day from South Africa. While some of our team has been with us for >10 years, pioneering the development of a bamboo industry as a solution to degraded lands and socio-economic decline, over the past 18 months, in partnership with ClimatePartner Impact our team has been growing with many new members learning about bamboo and its potential role in environmental restoration and the fight against global climate change. Today our team took a break from preparing for the upcoming planting season to celebrate the magnificence of this plant and its ability to grow on lands that are so destroyed and depleted that nothing else will.
