The Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County, Arkansas worked with the Arkansas State Chamber’s Be Pro Be Proud team to host their first Draft Day in Pine Bluff in March 2024. This event strategically pairs graduating seniors with local employers through the YouScience Aptitude and Interest Assessment based on corresponding interests, talents, and needs. Pine Bluff’s first Draft Day was a success with 92 graduating seniors sitting for 300 interviews, and over 300 students from 12 high schools going through the Expo portion of the event. Following Draft Day is a recognition event named Signing Day to highlight those students that received, and accepted, job offers from the participating employers at Draft Day. We are pleased to announce that Madison Green, of Pine Bluff High School, has accepted a position with Riceland Foods. Madison was celebrated for “signing” with Riceland Foods on May 7 at the Pine Bluff High School Student Center. She received remarks and presentations from Jamal Gordon of the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ronnieus Thompson of Pine Bluff High School, Denesha Evans of Pine Bluff High School, and Benjamin Reynolds of Riceland Foods.
