John Carroll University students had the opportunity to participate in the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Cup Competition.?The ACG Cup? is a case study competition designed to give students from leading university business programs across the country real world experience and invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity. Each case study provides students with an opportunity to present valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of professionals from within the community.?John Carroll's team of Adrienne Schupp, Michael Johnson, Daniel Walsh, Maximilian Cook, and Jacob Burr did an outstanding job.?In addition, Adrienne Schupp was recognized as a top three presenter of the event.??

Read below for a Student Spotlight featuring Adrienne Schupp. Adrienne's accomplishments throughout her time at JCU have been nothing short of exemplary and we couldn't be more proud of all she has done! *** I am a Senior Economics and Finance double major with minors in Business Analytics and Leadership Development. On campus I am currently a part of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, a member of the Finance Association, the Economics Association, and the Consulting Club. I am also a Tour Guide in the Office of Admissions and on the Tour Guide Leadership Team.? ? There are a few classes that come to mind when I think of classes that?have shaped my?undergraduate education. Dr. Elliott's Investments course was very helpful to me in learning DCF and Relative analysis to arrive at value indications for companies. Mr. Steinberg's course in Financial Accounting helped me to confidently read and understand financial statements and accounting entries. Finally, Dr. Charles's Econometrics courses supported me in passing the Certified Business Economist exam.? ? As for internships, I had a Financial Operations internship with the Cleveland Clinic in summer 2022. This past summer I had a Business Valuation internship with Ernst and Young. I have accepted a full-time position as a Business Valuation staff member at Ernst and Young following graduation! ? I think one of my favorite parts about Boler is our professional development. The many events BPD Bob plans and his professional guidance have been very helpful to me in discerning a career path and connecting with professionals. Additionally, all of my professors have served as advisors to me as well: Dr. Charles helped me to publish our ongoing?research in Economics journals, Dr. Petzel helped me to find a career path that coupled all of my academic interests, and Dr. Welki helped me weigh my different internship offers.
