To give underserved communities the support they deserve, especially when it comes to wealth-building, the right resources must be easily accessible. That’s where community development financial institutions (CDFI) come in. In our latest blog, Smitha Gopal recalls her conversation with Raquel Valdez Sanchez, COO of BCL of Texas, a CDFI that does things a little differently. As Smitha learned during this conversation, they don’t have an answering service. ?? Meaning they believe prioritizing one-on-one communication is the best way to connect with their community. Of course, technology is integrated into the process along the way, but they understand that a person-centered approach needs to come first to have a thriving and sustainable ecosystem.
