Everyone Can Make A Change To The World We Live In ?? We work side by side with people daily, learning about and understanding their decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills. But do we really know who they are and what world they live in when they step outside the office? The story of Alex Dudley, Director of Operations Control Centre (OCC) at Ecojet ??? The best time to start is now ? Life is forever keeping us busy, but I feel strongly about making time for what’s really important. Volunteering is something that I always wanted to do, but it took time to be somewhere that I felt I could make a difference.?I have always loved concerts and music festivals. It was there that the stars aligned, and I first heard about My Cause UK! Making a Difference While Having Fun ?? One of the many reasons I originally signed up to volunteer with My Cause was because I felt it would be a fun, whilst also making a difference to the environment. Since signing up, I have volunteered at four different BST Hyde Park festivals over the past 2 years, alongside my parents, seeing artists like Take That, Robbie Williams and Kylie! Bins, Bars, and Bright Pink Vests: A Day in the Life of a Festival Volunteer?? Volunteering with My Cause UK gives you the opportunity to be part of a team of people who are passionate about making a positive change to the world we live in. Our role is to ensure festival goers place their rubbish into the correct bins. Sound simple, doesn’t it? Believe me, it can be more complex than you think! Thousands of people, rushing between the refreshment stalls and the stage means that they often won’t look at the signage above the bins to ensure rubbish is placed in the correct bins, so that’s where we come in. Not only do we try to direct them, but we’re also there to educate anyone who will listen, with the information we receive before each festival. We wear bright pink high vis vests during our shifts which make us stand out nicely in case anyone needs our help or assistance. Sampling the various food stalls during my break is an added win too…. for recommendation purposes only, of course… Volunteering for a Cause Close to the Heart ?? From the fee that My Cause receives for each festival where we volunteer, a donation is made to the charity chosen by the individual. Finding a cure for Dementia is a cause close to my family’s heart, so Alzheimer's Research UK is our chosen charity. It’s a privilege to be able to volunteer my time in making festivals more sustainable and environmentally friendly, whilst knowing a charity I also care a lot about is receiving a donation. My Cause has been asked to return to these festivals for several years running now as the festival organisers have seen the huge difference they’ve made, so I very much hope I can be part of the volunteering team at many festivals in the future! #FridayStory #Volunteering #Ecojet #MyCause

It's Recycle Week 2024??????? The issue of airline waste remains one of the aviation industry’s greatest environmental challenges. From food packaging to single-use plastics, too much waste ends up in either landfills or our oceans. Small steps can make a huge difference. In 2024, 9.4 billion passengers are expected to travel. If each passenger drinks just one plastic bottle of water, it would result in approximately 1.33 million metric tons of CO2 emissions. This is Recycle Week, so let’s take action: - Reduce your waste: Avoid single-use items when traveling and opt for reusable alternatives. - Recycle responsibly: Know what can be recycled at airports and do your part to dispose of waste properly. - Spread awareness: Talk to your friends and family about the importance of reducing waste, both in the skies and on the ground. We all have mental health.?Just as we all have physical health. ? And just like our physical health it is vitally important to look after our mental health. ? On World Mental Health Day we want to acknowledge the significant impact our mental health has on us, every single day. ? When we enjoy good mental health, we have a sense of purpose and direction, the energy to do the things we want to do, and the ability to deal with the challenges that happen in our lives. ? At the same time, we can all have times when we feel overwhelmed by the challenges of life. Most of the time those feelings pass, but sometimes they develop into mental health problems like anxiety or depression. For some people, mental health problems become complex and require support and treatment for life. ? With this years' WMHD theme being "#workplace mental health" a focus for us is ensuring that the #culture we are creating supports honest and open discussion around mental health, pushing back on the numerous stigmas that surround it (especially within #aviation) and provides our workforce with the right tools and support to live a happy and healthy life. ? Happy Birthday Opportunity Green!? ? Yesterday, we celebrated the 3rd birthday of Opportunity Green at the stunning Somerset House in London!? ? The existence of such an incredible company is valuable in and of itself, and we wish CEO Aoife O'Leary and the entire team all the very best in their continued pursuit of creating a greener and healthier place for all of us to live. The event featured an engaging panel with Secretary-General of the IMO, Arsenio Dominguez; John Gummer, Rt Hon The Lord Deben; New Economics Foundation CEO, Danny Sriskandarajah, and moderator ?Attracta Mooney. If you haven’t yet connected with Opportunity Green, we couldn’t recommend doing so enough, their team are working on some fantastic things! Here are some key aspects that were discussed last night: - We are at a time when sharp decisions are crucial, especially considering the significant increase in human-related natural catastrophe events over the last 20 years. - The small steps being taken by the UN put us in a very precarious position, leading to potentially disastrous configurations in global organisations. - Should a progressive taxation mechanism for frequent flyers appear? As those who fly frequently often do not contribute their fair share; 80% of people have never flown. Ecojet don’t necessarily support this, but it’s an interesting debate nonetheless. - Should a wealth tax be initiated to ensure that revenue is directed appropriately.? - We need to shift the narrative—rather than asking people to pay extra, we’re asking them to pay the true cost of what they receive. If a product or service has an environmental impact, that cost should be included. - It’s crucial to recognise the true cost of our actions, not just the immediate financial impact but also the broader community costs.? We just want to express our gratitude to Opportunity Green for the invitation to celebrate their birthday and to highlight the significant contribution they are making to help decarbonise some of the hardest industries to decarbonise!

What a way to cap off a huge week at #FIA24. We are incredibly excited to announce that we have signed a purchase agreement with ZeroAvia for their game changing #ZA2000 powertrain. This agreement is for 22 engines, with an option for an additional 40, and contains deposits and pre-delivery payments attached to it. It is one of the first of it's kind within the novel propulsion space. ZeroAvia continue to break through the limitations of current technology, #innovating and #creating at every chance they get. The benefits that these powertrains will bring to aviation cannot be understated. Within a matter of years, you will be able to hop on an Ecojet aircraft and travel up and down the UK with the only bi-product being clean water. It is a privilage to work with Val Miftakhov and his team. We are beyond thrilled to be at the very forefront of the green revolution in aviation. What a week! ?? We’re excited to announce a Letter of Intent with ARC Aerosystems to purchase 20 LINX P9 aircrafts, with options for an additional 30, as showcased on the opening day of the Farnborough Airshow. This partnership is driven by our united mission towards innovative and sustainable aviation. The LINX P9 is an emissions-free compound gyroplane that will take intercity travel to new heights, connect towns and cities across the UK without the need for an airport. The LINX aircraft are unique; they take off and land vertically like a helicopter but fly like a conventional plane. By leveraging modern technology, we are unleashing the green Industrial Revolution that will reshape our entire approach to travel for the better.
