One key to saving our planet may have fallen between your sofa cushions. https://lnkd.in/e4pvddku Small, unused electronics, like old tv remotes, cellphones, and game devices, contain rare earth metals that are fully reusable. Mining these metals destroys the habitats of endangered animal species, like chimpanzee and okapi - both of which we have here in our Zoo. Thankfully, a new study shows that reusing them could reduce the demand for new mined materials in the US, EU, and China by as much as 40% over the next 25 years. We partner with the company ECO-CELL, which extracts the rare earth minerals for reuse and it couldn't be easier to drop off your small electronics here at the Zoo. There are secure collection boxes, right inside our Main Gate and in Chimp Forest. But you don't even need to enter the Zoo.
