Last Wednesday, our NAIOP SoCal Mentorship Group had the privilege of learning from Julie Chesley, PhD, leadership consultant and esteemed YPG facilitator, in a session on Appreciative Inquiry. Appreciative Inquiry is a method that uncovers what brings out the best in people, organizations, and communities when they’re at their most effective. ? I loved the idea of shifting from a deficit-based mindset to one that identifies and builds on our strengths, helping us and our companies operate at our best. Last Thursday, we kicked off another incredible year of the NAIOP SoCal Mentorship Program with mentors and mentees coming together for the first time! This program is all about building lasting relationships that support career growth and leadership development. With structured one-on-one pairings and ongoing guidance, we’re excited to see the impact it will have on everyone involved. A standout moment was our "speed dating icebreaker," where mentees practiced their elevator pitches and connected with multiple mentors in quick three minute rounds.
