ECHO is thrilled to thank the?Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties?and the?Loudoun Impact Fund?for supporting ECHO with grant funding to upgrade our LIFE Day Support kitchen! This space is essential for preparing daily lunches and helping participants build independence through cooking classes. With this funding, we replaced outdated or broken refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves, ensuring our kitchen is fully equipped and functional. Additional upgrades included new cookware, tables, and small appliances, all of which help make our LIFE skills classes and lunchtime run smoothly for staff and participants. These improvements create more opportunities for hands-on learning, making meal prep more accessible and engaging for everyone. To celebrate, we put the kitchen to good use—whipping up mini sweet potato pies using fresh potatoes from View of Heaven Farm! ?? At ECHO, Our Transportation's More Than A Ride: It's A Connection To Community! ?? Transportation isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about creating opportunities. Since the beginning, we’ve been helping participants get to work and engage in their communities with reliable transportation. With over 20 vehicles (many wheelchair accessible!) covering 34,000 miles each month, we’re proud to serve roughly 160 of our participants. We’re also a Logisticare provider and work with Loudoun County’s Department of Family Services to offer on-demand transportation. What started as a small initiative has grown into a thriving community—one where individuals find meaningful work, develop life skills, build friendships, and gain the independence they deserve. This milestone isn’t just about ECHO—it’s about every participant, staff member, family, and supporter who has shaped our journey. It’s about the job coaches and employment support specialists who celebrate small victories, the drivers who ensure safe travels, the donors who believe in our mission, and—most of all—the individuals we serve. As we celebrate 50 incredible years, we are also looking ahead. The world is changing, but one thing remains constant: our commitment to empowering adults with disabilities. ???Serving Up Some Pi(e) Day Fun!??? This week, our staff celebrated Pi Day the best way we know how—by sharing pies! From classic flavors to unique creations, it was a delicious way to come together and enjoy a sweet treat with good company.
