In the latest Inside Philanthropy article, Liza Mueller, our Vice President of Thought Leadership, explains the purpose behind our Signal Fund. As she states, the goal is to "send a signal to other capital providers to go ahead and do that due diligence and look under the hood at these organizations, meet these individuals, and determine if they’re right for your portfolio.” The article also explores how regranting is emerging as a powerful tool to help scale environmental impact, enabling smaller organizations to access funding and support local efforts through larger, pooled resources. ?? https://lnkd.in/ejYmRMXA
As environmental philanthropy grows, more nonprofits are stepping up as regrantors to effectively channel funds into green initiatives. Just had an incredible experience with Ones Up yesterday! ?? ? What started as a site visit turned into so much more. Thank you to The Allstate Foundation’s nonprofit partner, Echoing Green for organizing and facilitating this dynamic gathering. Ones Up is revolutionizing economic mobility through innovative career development programming for youth ages 16-24. Their approach, grounded in healing, wellness, and social justice, creates spaces for young people to address community issues while improving their access to upward mobility. The energy was electric from the moment we entered. We were greeted with a password, an affirmation, and two brain games – mirroring the youth experience at Ones Up. It’s about temporarily setting aside the outside world of stressors and distractions to fully immerse yourself in the present. Being among other corporate funders dedicated to creating greater equity and thriving wages for all, while learning from the Ones Up team, was truly unforgettable. I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of community. Through holistic, wrap-around support systems for youth, Ones Up isn't just changing individual lives - they're uplifting entire communities. This visit reinforced the importance of funder-nonprofit partnerships that: - View nonprofits as influencers shaping culture and society to create conditions for all to thrive - Ensure strategies, metrics, and implementation are community-driven - Provide support beyond funding, based on nonprofits' needs as they shift and scale? - Recognize youth as our future, supporting their holistic development to reach their highest potential Ones Up Founder, Alexander Peay, is an Echoing Green fellow alumnus. Echoing Green is now seeking the next class of fellows! Apply here: https://lnkd.in/ePWQZQVn Learn more about Ones Up's approach and success stories: https://onesup.org/?
