https://lnkd.in/egUTTV4M "But what's it going to cost me to change? I'm invested in this current system. This is the wrong question... what's it going to cost you not to change?" Super interesting research being done by ECDYSIS FOUNDATION. "Ecdysis has a strong emphasis on farmer-, rancher-, and beekeeper-driven research questions, and?empowers producers by involving them in the actual research projects themselves (i.e., from systems design to guided citizen science). The 1000 Farms Initiative generates full site inventories in various stages of regenerative adoption. We are analyzing key factors to show producers the health of their land, how their land compares with others, and how to incorporate regenerative methods into their agricultural production in order to disseminate these farm-level results back to the farmers and agricultural communities to inspire change." https://lnkd.in/ePvt-wQ3. https://www.ecdysis.bio/

Save the planet by reforming our food system, simultaneously rethinking how applied science is conducted …]
关于我们
Cutting Edge Research for Transforming Agriculture with Regenerative Principles. Society’s advance is contingent upon transformational changes in our food production system. Currently, the farmers and ranchers are leading the innovation of food production systems, ahead of the researchers.Science is necessary to make regenerative food systems a reality, but we need to rethink how we apply science in order to get there. Producers require independent, practical scientific support to ensure that concepts, practices, and systems are scalable and transferable to other operations and regions. Our Vision: We can grow food and conserve biodiversity and environmental health. Agriculture can be used to solve many of the world’s problems, and Ecdysis Foundation provides the Research and Development that can make innovative practices scalable and transferable to as many operations as possible. We anticipate a paradigm shift in the way food is produced in this country, and we want to have answers ready for farmers when they are ready to farm in nature’s image. Our South Dakota location is just the beginning. After we establish ourselves with a manageable set of questions/projects, we will diversify our scientific expertise to best accomplish the multi-disciplinary nature of the science we are proposing. Our vision is to then take the Ecdysis model nationally, establishing a network of facilities around the country that can address local and regional circumstances.

Common Ground (Movie) is eligible "For Your Consideration: Best Documentary Feature" for the Academy Awards. Imagine if this film and its message of building common ground and restoring ecosystems on Earth as well as human health reached the masses...it could change the world! As a powerful follow-up to ‘Kiss the Ground’ (Netflix), Common Ground (Movie) is a sobering yet hopeful independent documentary investigating the often toxic interconnections of farming and food systems, and explores the destruction and healing across North America, by sharing stories of people utilizing regenerative agriculture practices. ?? Thank you to each and every person who attended a screening, shared a post, or told a friend or colleague about our film. Every action matters. Special shout-out to the incredible farmers, ranchers, soil and health experts, scientists, and advocates featured in the film including but not limited to: Gabe Brown, Kelsey Scott, Dr. Toby Kiers of SPUN | Society for the Protection of Underground Networks, Kenneth Cook of Environmental Working Group, Dr. Cristine Morgan of Soil Health Institute, Kara Brewer Boyd of Association Of American Indian Farmers, Dr. Jonathan Lundgren of ECDYSIS FOUNDATION, David LeZaks, carey gillam, Zen Honeycutt, Kelly Ryerson, Robyn O'Brien, Ray Archuleta, Rick Clark, Charles Benbrook, Urvashi Rangan, Leah Penniman, Finian Makepeace of Kiss The Ground, and John Piotti of American Farmland Trust to name a few!
