On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, ECCHO honors the lives lost to anti-transgender violence and stands in solidarity with Wisconsin’s transgender community. At ECCHO, we are committed to improving community health outcomes by addressing systemic injustices and centering the voices of those most impacted. We seek to build a future where equity, justice, and safety are the foundation of every community. Inclusion of transgender individuals is vital to this work. Expecially for black trans women, who face heightened anti-transgender violence as compared to their peers. In 2024, in Milwaukee alone, 3 transgender women were killed in a span of 9 months.? #saytheirnames We honor:? Cashay Henderson Regina Allen Dee Dee Watters? & Countless more who have lost in lives in #milwaukee, #wisconsin, & beyond to anti-transgender violence - Today & Everyday. #TDOR #TransgenderDayOfRemembrance #CivicEngagement #WisconsinPride #LGBTQWisconsin #CommunityHealth #SocialChange #TransRightsAreHumanRights?
We want to live in a world where trans people are able to be fully celebrated in life and remembered for our joy and not just our deaths. We have the right to be ourselves, openly and safely — today and every day.
