    I remember getting feedback from a client after their interview with a candidate, "They just didn't seem excited. They had low energy." These are candidates with outstanding pedigrees. They have highly relevant experience. They have an incredible track record. But your energy matters. A CEO and a COO have to inspire the team towards a vision and the execution of that vision. It doesn't happen with low energy. The right candidate had confidence in their examples. They were extremely curious and interested in the business. They were interested in the story of the private equity firm. It showed in the questions they asked. They leaned in. They got the job.
