Matteo Patrone is in Tunisia, where he had the privilege of meeting with Tunisia’s Head of the Government, Kamel Maddouri. Their conversation focused on critical priorities such as water and energy security, renewable energy, SOE reform, and critical infrastructure development—all vital for fostering sustainable and inclusive growth. They discussed the importance of streamlining investment processes and accelerating project implementation to create a business-friendly environment. These measures, coupled with investments in modern and green infrastructure, better governance, digitalisation, and efficient resource management, can unlock private sector growth, enhance social inclusion, particularly in the regions, and ensure long-term economic stability. By creating opportunities for private sector investment and innovation, Tunisia can drive job creation, economic diversification, and regional development. EBRD stands ready to support the Tunisian government in its efforts to implement these important reforms.

Türkiye just launched its industrial decarbonisation investment platform. Supported by the EBRD, The World Bank and the IFC - International Finance Corporation, the platform aims to deploy $5 billion in investments for decarbonising the industrial sector. TIDIP builds on the LCPs, developed in coordination by the EBRD and the Turkish government. The platform is the world’s largest industrial decarbonisaton programme to date. https://lnkd.in/dnMd-BRi

On November 12, we celebrated the transformative Energy-from-Waste Plant in Vin?a, turning over half of Belgrade’s waste into green heat and electricity. This groundbreaking project is a testament to the power of collaboration, made possible by ITOCHU Europe PLC, Veolia, Marguerite Fund, and the City of Belgrade, with invaluable support from the International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF). We're supporting expansion of the largest windfarm in Africa! Proud to be?supporting the development and sustainability of?Egypt’s renewable-energy sector by extending a US$ 21.3 million loan to Red Sea Wind Energy! The loan will fund the development and construction of a 150 MW expansion to the 500 MW wind farm currently being constructed in the country’s Gulf of Suez region. The new financing complements an existing loan provided by the EBRD and the?Green Climate Fund?in 2023, in favour of Red Sea Wind Energy, to?finance the original 500 MW wind farm. On completion, this expansion will increase the capacity of the wind farm that is currently under construction, bringing its total capacity to 650 MW and making the wind farm the largest in Egypt and in Africa. The project is expected to help reduce annual CO2?emissions by 1.3 million tonnes.
