URGENT: Help Us Keep a Lifeline for Patients in Need! At the heart of our mission is a commitment to making eating disorder treatment more accessible in Montana. With so many patients traveling from across our vast rural state, providing safe, affordable housing in Bozeman is one of the most impactful ways we can support their recovery. For the past five years, we’ve offered subsidized, fully furnished housing just steps from our treatment center—eliminating the stress of leases, deposits, and furniture so patients can focus entirely on healing. But now, this essential resource is at risk. We must raise $24,000 in the next month to keep our housing available, and we can’t do it without you. Every dollar makes a difference. If you’re able to give, please donate here: https://lnkd.in/gnpQQVhM Even if a donation isn’t possible right now, you can still help by sharing this post and spreading the word. Together, we can ensure that every patient has a place to stay and a chance to heal. ??

关于我们
Living wholeheartedly. The Eating Disorder Center of Montana (EDCMT) is a licensed healthcare facility with holistic and structured programs for children, adolescents, and adults through our outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization/day treatment programs. We currently have two locations in Bozeman, Montana. We guide our patients to address their stressors, moving beyond disordered coping, to free them to live wholeheartedly. Program services include a combination of individual, family, and group psychotherapy, nutrition counseling and rehabilitation, psycho-education, and supervised meal encounters. The treatment team consists of an attending physician (psychiatrist), advanced-degree licensed therapists, registered dietitians, registered nurses, milieu therapists, and administrators. We strive to empower our patients with newfound resiliency and skills they can use the rest of their lives. “EDCMT truly saved my life. The combination of individual therapy, nutritional services, and group therapy provided direct support, accountability, and a community with which I could share my struggles and successes. I would not have grown into the healthy individual I am today without it.” EDCMT Patient At EDCMT, we place our patients into specific levels of care based on the unique needs of each person: partial hospitalization/day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient programs. Our spacious and attractive lodging facility for adults is located within walking distance from EDCMT’s two locations in Downtown Bozeman, providing an accommodation for out-of-town patients who need a place to stay during the course of their treatment. In addition to in-person treatment, we also provide tele-health services through our virtual HIPAA compliant platform for our intensive outpatient and outpatient clients throughout Montana. How do eating disorders develop? The answer: There are many factors because they’re complex. Eating disorders are what we call bio-psycho-social conditions which means that they have biological factors, psychological factors and social factors. The biological factors include: -Family history -History of dieting -Genetic predisposition -The psychological factors include: -Low self esteem -Relationship with self -Not feeling good enough/worthy -Depression, anxiety, fear, loneliness -Trauma The social factors include: -A culture that emphasizes appearance as a metric of worth -Body dissatisfaction -Trying to attain a perceived ‘ideal' body type -Historical trauma -Weight stigma/ bullying What doesn’t cause an eating disorder? The person with the eating disorder. If you have an eating disorder you are not to blame. You aren’t. No matter what. While eating disorders may begin as preoccupations with food and weight, they are most often about much more than food. It’s important to understand that eating disorders have multiple established causes and that they’re multifaceted. This is why no two people will struggle in the same way. And as always, no matter the causes, eating disorders are absolutely treatable. Healing is possible.
