In August 2023, Stoudamire Wellness Hub and our community were the victims of someone deliberately slamming his truck into the main entrance to the building while programming was taking place. The entrance has been temporarily secured, the programming continues, and The Stoudamire’s members and staff are determined to move forward. ?? Working through the trauma, we recognized an opportunity to build something new that recognizes/uplifts our community. ?? The Lower Eastside Action Plan (LEAP) Steering Committee is a body of elected resident leaders who work collaboratively to build the resilience of Detroit’s eastside communities, by supporting and driving initiatives that align with the goals of LEAP and residents living in LEAP neighborhoods. Each year, residents like you elect a new slate of LEAP Steering Committee members. These committee members commit to fully participating in and attending bi-monthly committee meetings; decision-making on behalf of LEAP residents; representing the LEAP Coalition at community and city meetings; resource sharing; and supporting the work of the LEAP Coalition.
