"An Eastern Hancock math teacher taught woodworking outside, his students using drills to drive screws into pieces of wood. Inside the building, students injected syringes into dog mannequins, one of which could also simulate the sounds of heartbeats, lungs, and digestion. Down the hall, sewing machines hummed as other students stitched by hand. It was not an ordinary day at Eastern Hancock High School and Eastern Hancock Middle School. History Comes to Life for Our 5th Graders! The shot heard 'round the world transported our students back in time to the Revolutionary War! The shot signified the arrival of Paul Revere on his horse exclaiming "The British are Coming!" Thank you to high school student Maddie and her horse Dude for bringing this lesson to life! This fun and creative approach brought history out of the textbooks and into the hearts of our students, making learning truly unforgettable.
