Lima, Peru: The APEC?Economic Leaders’ Week 2024?wrapped up a week of meetings including the APEC - Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and CEO Summit. Today, #ABAC members, including Co-Chair and our Chairman and CEO Dominic Ng, shared their recommendations promoting "People. Business. Prosperity," with #APEC heads of state. Today also concludes his three-year term of service in ABAC. In his remarks at the final ABAC?Closing Plenary, Dominic thanked his fellow ABAC members for their collaboration during his ABAC Chairmanship in 2023 and Co-Chairmanship in 2022 and 2024. We are inspired by Dominic's service and vision to create a more resilient #AsiaPacific economic region and thank the teams at the Bank and ABAC who supported him in his three-year APEC journey.

We believe in the power of art to bridge cultures and communities. For our #EWBGalleryoftheMonth, we’re spotlighting our client Hauser & Wirth. Founded in 1992 in Zurich, the world-renowned gallery has locations spanning the globe, including Los Angeles, Paris and Hong Kong. “Apart from the gallery spaces, Hauser & Wirth has a unique 'art center' model, where they have become not only energy centers for our artists but are also embedded in the local community,” says Hauser & Wirth Senior Director Lihsin Tsai.? ? In the heart of Hong Kong’s financial district, the gallery is currently featuring Mark Bradford’s “Exotica,” a solo exhibition?wherein the artist uses caulk to create shadow-like imprints upon the canvas. These forms inject Bradford’s layered compositions with a trace of fantasy, strangeness and memory through which Bradford probes the enduring impact of colonialism and concepts of “otherness” through the lens of individual experience.? ? Coinciding with the exhibition, Mark Bradford and Hauser & Wirth Learning, in partnership with the Bridge+, a local social enterprise in Hong Kong, devised a learning program that engages with a group of young people ages 15 – 16 from the Sham Shui Po neighborhood. In July 2024, participants explored Bradford’s “Merchant Poster" body of work in a series of workshops designed to introduce young creators to the processes of screen printing and photo emulsion. In September, Bradford collaborated with the student participants to realize a mural in the Bridge+ space. The students installed the Merchant Posters they created during the workshop in the Bridge+ space, adjacent to the mural.? ? “Exotica” runs through March 1, 2025.? ? ??:? 1, 2, 4, 7-8. Amazing teamwork between the Los Angeles Lakers and East West Bank associates as we tipped off our annual "Season of Giving" yesterday afternoon! ?? Students from Crete Academy Charter School—aimed at serving students experiencing homelessness—enjoyed carnival games, Thanksgiving meals, spending time with the players, and taking home some Lakers swag, including LeBron James’ book “I Am More Than”!???????
