The #ETECcommunity had the pleasure of hearing from Randy Boyd, President of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and CEO of the statewide University of Tennessee System, during this morning’s #ETECFridayMornings meeting. Randy shared a powerful update on the State of the University of Tennessee, highlighting that we’re midway through what he calls “the greatest decade” for UT—marked by peak enrollment, record retention, and strong financial health. He emphasized that UT’s growth is intentional, driven by a commitment to building talent pipelines that help recruit and retain companies across Tennessee. He also highlighted new developments, increased community investment, and UT’s ongoing efforts to promote civic engagement. Randy closed by underscoring UT’s deepening partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, calling it stronger than ever—a sentiment backed by the recent U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) five-year contract extension with UT-Battelle to continue managing the Lab.
