East End Neighborhood House

Since 1907, East End Neighborhood House has valued helping families. As one of the oldest settlement houses in Cleveland, the organization believes in neighborhood-based and collective action. East End aims to deliver culturally enriched and compassionate social services so that each member of the family—from child, parent, to senior—can become self-sufficient and thrive. All services are grounded in the meaning of Ubuntu, a term that translates as "humanity" and represents South-African philosophy and principles such as: "I am because we are." The organization's departments include: the Ubuntu Learning Center (Childcare), the Wisdom Keepers Senior Center (Seniors), Neighborhood Family Support Services (Families), the Foster Grandparent Program (Volunteers), and Community Engagement and Outcomes.
