We recently posted about the work we did over a number of years with Houston Methodist Hospital. The multi-year aspect of the work is important—as in physical fitness, the effectiveness of mindfulness-based programs is maintained by regular, sustained practice, as borne out by some research published last year (accessible here: https://lnkd.in/ecj-8u-E): “Our results suggest that the effect of individual-based interventions diminishes over time, hence the need for such interventions to be repeated for their effects to be maintained in the long term.” This is one of the reasons we offer monthly gatherings like the Mindfulness Grad Online Community, and our free weekly Worldwide Online Sit. We invite you to practice with us whenever you can. Mindfulness Grad Online Community: https://lnkd.in/eMKP4BzP Weekly Worldwide Online Sit: https://lnkd.in/eN_xp6b

??????????’?? ???????????? ?? ???????????????? ???? ?? ?????????? Do you remember “perfect attendance” awards in school? I never got one. But one perfect attendance stat does matter to me: I’ve led a weekly Worldwide Online Sit on Thursdays since 2018, during my time as faculty at UMass Med’s Center for Mindfulness (CFM). I’d gladly miss school as a child, but honoring the opportunity each Thursday to be in the good company of others to practice and reflect is its own “award.” So, no official LinkedIn graffiti-like announcement. I’m simply smiling today at how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to keep showing up for the ???????? ?????????? ?????????????????????? ?????????????????? ???????????? ??????: ??????????????????, ????:????-????:???? ???? ??????????????. March 2019 (six years ago!) marked the start of a years-long collaboration between East Coast Mindfulness and Houston Methodist Hospital, to provide Mindfulness-based programs to Houston Methodist employees as part of a broad initiative to improve the resilience of its health care workforce (which was severely tested during the COVID-19 pandemic). Just as noteworthy: they measured the efficacy of the programs on employee stress levels. The result: participants reported a reduction in stress levels of up to 50% (as measured by the Perceived Stress Scale). Interested in the details? The case study was featured in the August 2022 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst Innovations in Care Delivery: https://lnkd.in/eT4-ibRU #mbsr #mindfulness #healthcare #healthcareindustry #employeebenefits

We refer to MBSR as the gold standard evidence-based, intensive exploration of the practice of mindfulness. The evidence basis continues to be rigorously developed, and our friends at the University of California Davis Center for Mind and Brain have reached out with a request for participants in a study they have been undertaking. This group will be composed of people who are interested in taking MBSR or other contemplative trainings but are not currently enrolled in a course; no meditation experience is required. Participants are eligible to receive up to $240 as an incentive. Interested?
