ECESC leaders were honored to attend the grand opening of Winchester Community High School’s new P-TECH center. We’re excited for the opportunity this will bring to students and the impact it will have on the community!
Yesterday, Winchester Community High School hosted an incredible site visit for state partners and other schools implementing a Pathways to Careers and Postsecondary (P-CAP) program including tours, classroom observations, and conversations with students and industry partners. The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting for their new P-CAP classroom space. Winchester Community High School and other P-CAP network schools are transforming the pathways of underserved students by providing them with learning experiences that are relationship-centered, hands-on, cross-curricular, and closely connected to industry and community partners. Congratulations, Mr. Black! A well-deserved honor! #LeadIAPSS
This evening, I was deeply honored to receive the District 6 Superintendent of the Year Award. Moments like this remind me of the incredible support and inspiration that surrounds me every day. First and foremost, I want to thank my wife, Sarah, and my amazing children—Audrey, Braylon, and Tynlee. Your unwavering love and encouragement fuel everything I do. To my fellow District 6 superintendents, thank you for your collaboration and support—your dedication to education inspires me daily. A special thank you to Bryan Rausch for the nomination. Your belief in me is humbling and appreciated more than words can express. I also want to thank Neal Adams, Ed.S., George Philhower, Dr. Matthew Hicks, and Patrick Haney for taking time away from their families to join me on this special night. This recognition is a product of being surrounded by amazing people at Randolph Eastern and the terrific support I had during my tenure at that amazing school corporation. Tonight I am also rejuvenated by my mission at Liberty Perry where I seek to serve all students all the time. Thank You Robert Taylor, Deb Lecklider, and the at IAPSS for a the special evening!

We are grateful for the opportunity to support youth apprenticeship pathways in East Central Indiana with Eastern Indiana Works through the coaching and support of the team at Ascend Indiana. These partnerships are creating new opportunities for students to earn, learn, dream, and succeed in our region and across the state!
