Thousands Joined us on #BikeToWhereverDay! THANK YOU to all who made it happen! With 115 Energizer Stations, we distributed thousands of bags all across the East Bay and got to see all the wonderful ways people ride in style to work, school, on errands, and wherever. We ended the night with a Happy Hour in Old Oakland (co-hosted with our friends Walk Oakland, Bike Oakland) – it was great to see so many new and returning faces. Thank you to the staff, volunteers, Energizer Station hosts, partners, and sponsors who are helping to build a strong local bike movement here in the East Bay. Nancy, Caitlin Gleason, Justin Hu-Nguyen & Daniel Lanis from our team are down in San Diego this week, representing Bike East Bay at the #CalBikeSummit2024 Justin, our Co-Executive Director of Mobility Justice got to sit on a panel with Tamika L. Butler, Esq. and folks from Anti Police-Terror Project & Human Rights Watch for a conversation called "Beyond Enforcement: Community-Centered Traffic Safety" where they discussed the intersections of transportation infrastructure, the criminal legal system, and what "community safety" really means. This has been an awesome chance to connect with bicycle advocates from across the state and move the needle on #MobilityJustice!
