Back in 2015, Dave Ramey of Ramey Wine Cellars pointed me in the direction of Redwood Empire Food Bank as an organization to donate to. He told me how they would turn every dollar donated into four dollars worth of food. I was astounded at that, since it’s so rare in charitable organizations to see that much return on a dollar. Now 8 years later, I’m proud that Earthtone has donated $150,000 and turned that into half a million bucks worth of food. I’m also now a board member, and therefore a hunger relief worker myself. Over the years, I’ve become intimately involved in what we do at Redwood Empire Food Bank, and am extremely grateful to Dave Ramey for introducing me. We have many programs at the Food Bank, but this one in particular is dear to my heart. Imagine being a kid growing up in Sonoma County and the only lunch you get is during the school year. I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid I was always hungry, I may have missed lunch a few times, but I can’t imagine missing it every day. How vital then, this program that we have in place. But we can’t do it without help. Inflation has hurt everyone in their pocket and the Food Bank is no exception. We pay more for food too, but we are committed to continuing this work.
