Battery Energy Control Modules (BECMs) are available again for the second-generation (2016—2019) Chevrolet Volt! This component can fail, and was unavailable from Chevrolet for some time. The BECM resides on top of the Volt's battery pack, which means that the battery pack must be dropped to access and replace the module. Earthling Technician Jeo Zepeda shows us how it's done.

A solid foundation in electrical theory is a prerequisite for success when learning to diagnose and repair the high-voltage systems in today's hybrid, EV, and fuel cell vehicles. Here technician Brian Patino of Central Automotive in Concord, California, builds circuits as he brushes up on the basics of voltage, current, and resistance.

For Earth Day, we express our gratitude for this beautiful and precious planet, mother of human experience. There is so much to do, well beyond adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles, to address the climate crisis, and that includes Earthling Auto as a business and a member of the local and global community. Here a resources we use and recommend to others (automotive or otherwise) to think about our impact and reduce it: https://lnkd.in/gSFYQ5Sy https://lnkd.in/eSh68Yp5 Finally, this video sums up our mood today, with a mix of laughter, gravity, and our hope in human potential to solve problems. https://lnkd.in/gW9ynDmJ

"If we’re in a technological industry, for better or worse, we have to commit to constant, continuous learning. It’s one thing to do continuous learning and not like it, but it would be nice to do it and look forward to it." —Jack R. Dive into more from Jack and Earthling Automotive at https://lnkd.in/gJEtQwhC.
